Care Instructions
Printed cotton rewards a little attention. Looked after, these pieces soften with wear. Washed hot and dried in the sun, they will not.
Washing
- Wash separately for the first two or three washes, since natural dyes can release a small amount of colour.
- Cold water only. Hot water dulls printed colour quickly.
- Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid bleach, optical brighteners and harsh powders.
- Turn the garment inside out before washing to protect the printed surface.
- Hand wash where possible. If machine washing, use a gentle cycle and a mesh bag.
Drying
- Dry in shade, never direct sunlight. Sun is the fastest way to fade a printed motif.
- Do not wring. Press the water out gently and hang to drip.
Ironing and storage
- Warm iron on the reverse of the fabric.
- Store folded or on a wide hanger, away from damp.
What is normal
Slight irregularity in the print repeat, a little variation in colour depth across a panel, a faint outline where colours meet, and some colour release in the first wash. These come with the printing process and we do not treat them as faults.
What is not
Torn fabric, open seams or missing buttons. If you see any of those, or you think something is wrong with a piece, send us photographs at support@shopekaara.com and we will look at it properly and put it right.
